How Much Does an Interior Designer Cost in Lebanon?

Modern bedroom interior in warm neutral tones designed by Dezainteria Studio

It's the first question almost everyone asks, and often the hardest to get a straight answer to: how much does an interior designer actually cost in Lebanon?

The honest answer is that there's no single price, because no two projects are the same. A full villa and a single room are completely different worlds of work. So rather than give you a number that wouldn't fit your project anyway, here's something more useful: a clear explanation of how interior design pricing actually works, what you're really paying for, and how we approach it at Dezainteria.

The three ways designers usually price

Across the market, you'll generally come across three pricing methods. Understanding them helps you read any quote you receive.

Per square meter. Some designers charge a set rate for each square meter of your space. It's simple to understand and easy to compare. The rate varies with the designer's experience and how complex the project is.

A percentage of the construction cost. For full projects that include execution and supervision, many designers charge a percentage of the total build budget — typically somewhere in the range of 10% to 15%. The bigger and more involved the build, the more this reflects the depth of work behind it.

A lump sum. For a clearly defined scope — say, designing one specific space — a designer may quote a single agreed figure. This gives you complete predictability: you know exactly what you'll pay, with no surprises.

None of these is "right" or "wrong." Which one fits depends entirely on the project — its size, its scope, and how involved you want the designer to be.

What you're actually paying for

A common misunderstanding is that you're paying someone to "pick nice furniture." In reality, a designer's fee covers far more, and most of it never shows up in the final photos:

  • Concept and planning — the layout and flow that make a space genuinely work, not just look nice.

  • Technical drawings — the detailed documentation contractors build from. This is where a beautiful idea becomes a buildable reality, and it's often the most valuable part of the whole project.

  • A clear bill of quantities (BOQ) — an itemized list of everything the project needs. In a market where material prices shift and some quotes are vague, this protects you from surprise costs and gives you a fair basis to compare vendors.

  • Coordination and supervision — making sure what gets built actually matches what was designed.

So a large part of what you pay for is protection: against costly mistakes, against overpaying, and against the gap between a lovely plan and a poorly executed result. A good designer often saves you money by preventing exactly these problems.

How we approach pricing at Dezainteria

Because every space and every client is different, we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all price tag. A small refresh of a single room and a complete home are simply not the same project — and they shouldn't carry the same price.

So here's how it works with us. We start with a conversation. We talk about your space, your style, how you want to live or work in it, and what you'd like us to handle — whether that's a focused consultation to point you in the right direction, a full design with 3D renders, or a complete project with technical drawings and on-site supervision from start to finish.

Only then do we prepare a clear breakdown for your project specifically — so you know exactly what's included and exactly what you're investing in, with no vague numbers and no surprises.

This means there's room for every kind of project. Whether you have a whole home or just one room you'd like to rethink, the right starting point is simply a conversation.
